I read a rant last week from somebody angry at impersonal or clearly incorrect rejection letters that are often sent in response to job applications. I’ve personally been at both sides of the table, so I’m going to weigh in on the matter.

This is what the title says: stuff I don’t know where to place.
On a daily basis, my wife and I take our two-year-old for a walk through the neighborhood. Since this summer, a goose and duck have taken to living near a bridge on our regular route. What matter this duck and this goose, you ask? Let me explain.
In my day job I’m a software developer. That means I create software that automates or aids some process that humans used to do by hand, or could not perform altogether. Before my team actually gets down to writing the software, and sometimes even during, we have to have a lot of long discussions. This is in shrill contrast to writing a story, where I can sit down and go. I’m going to look at both extremes a bit closer today.
